The Sea Horse

In issue number 18 of our collection, we have gotten to know the legend of the Sea Horse and learned more about the Chilean sea and its flora and fauna. We invite you to go over this summary and answer a few questions.

The Sea Horse

It is a very large animal that looks a lot like a regular horse, only with a longer snout and fins instead of hoofs. It carries warlocks on its hide, who head out to the Caleuche or simply need to cross the sea. It feeds on seaweed, which explains its greenish yellow color. It only lives for four years.

Chilean sea, vast coastlines

- The ocean that bathes Chile, the Pacific, is the largest one on the planet. It takes up 166,241,000 km2, which equals 46% of the Earth’s waters.
- These waters bathe continental, oceanic and Antarctic Chilean territory.
- Marine wildlife is divided into mammals, birds, fish and invertebrates. Algae or aquatic plants are the most abundant kind of plant life.
