It consists of more than 30 islands between Saudi Arabia to the east and Qatar to the west. The main island is called Bahrain.
All of these islets are very similar to each other; composed of rocky formations, sand deserts and small swamps. The climate is extremely hot and humid between the months of April and October and warm in the winter.
The economy is primarily based on petroleum, but there are also important natural gas reserves.
