Various cells group together to form tissues which, in turn, make up organs and systems.

Based on their structure, size and function attributes, cells can be divided into two major groups: eukaryotic cells (found in the human body) or prokaryotic cells.

The cell contains a protoplasm called a cytoplasm (where chemical changes and metabolic reactions take place) and genetic information.

In addition, eukaryotic cells have a cell nucleus.
